I have selected 16 short pieces to put on my new album. They are all original compositions and are amongst some of my favourites. They tell stories and legends, including several inspired by the beautiful Peak District where I have lived for nearly 20 years – hence the title of the album.

Over the years, I have written many compositions for piano solo. I was recently reviewing some of them and was surprised to discover how, in the present, they provoked the same feelings and thoughts that had originally inspired them.

At that time, I called them my little “rien du touts” (“nothing at alls”). Since then, however, I have come to realise how important they were in my life and how they have made me more aware of myself in relation to the people and places that I continue to prize deeply. I do hope you like the album.
